HG 1/144 Mazinger Z Infinity ver.

Happy Holidays everyone!

After a long hiatus (again) I'm back with another plastic model review. But this time, lets make it different and take a look at this iconic Japanese robot, the HG 1/144 Mazinger Z Infinity version based on the newest movie of Mazinger Z infinity.

To be honest, I don't know anything about the Mazinger Z series... But I have watched the movie for references. One thing for sure is that Mazinger Z is famous not only in Japan but also across the globe.

Let's take a look...

UNBOXING

NOTE: I did not bother to add panel lining and sanding the nub marks on this kit for two reasons.
1. So that you can see how big the nub marks is.
2. I'm too lazy to do sanding

MAZINGER Z

So, here she is after building and everything that it comes with.

ARTICULATION

Articulation is pretty nice. The elbow has a two-point-bend. The knees can bend at 90 degrees. Wrist has a two-point articulation connected by a ball joint on the arms. Over all, it can do pretty nice poses

WEAPONS and ACCESSORIES

For weapons, there isn't much. But, let take on its accessories.

JET SCRANDER

The Jet Scrander or its wings can be attached by removing a piece on its back. then there is a belt that will secure it connection by placing it on its waist. There is a little articulation on the wings.

ROCKET PUNCH

Using the effect parts and the stand, you can do the iconic rocket punch. There is a small part that you will need to attach on the arms to hide the pegs on the arms.

DRILL MISSILES

The Drill missiles can be attached on both arms. Unfortunately there is no effect parts on this one, so its looks like the Mazinger is using the power of its armpits.

It also ads the bend of the elbow though.

IRON CUTTERS

The iron cutters can be attached on the arms by removing two piece on its side. This can be made on both arms.

FLYING POSES

For flying poses, there is a special connector that will attached the belt of the jet scrander to the included stand.

OVER ALL

This is a really nice kit. It has great details and deep panel lining opportunities. The details is so good you don't even need to do some paneling to see those details.

Unfortunately, some of its parts is still not under-gated so you need some serious sanding to remove those nasty nab marks.

Articulation: 9/10
Design: 10/10
Playability: 9/10

This is a well recommended kit specially for Mazinger fans out there. This kit gives enjoyment, fulfillment and nostalgia for our 80's, 90's and early 00's builders out there.

That's all for today, please look forward on my next review. Thanks :)

RG 1/144 Tallgeese EW

Hello!

This will be my first review that is not a gundam, but still, one of the iconic mobile suit for 90's pips out there. The RG 1/144 Tallgeese EW.

UNBOXING

Here are the parts of the Tallgeese.

FEET and LEGS

The foot has three bend point and connected by a ball joint.
Legs bend at two points an has a nice bend. Also, part separation are amazing, specially the inner frame once the knee is bend.

SKIRT

Side skirts are connected by a ball joint and has flaps on it. Same with the back skirt, that has two thrusters but molded as one. However, the flaps can move separately.

You could move the front skirt upward that makes the thrusters on the crotch move forward.

BODY

Like other RG's, the body has an opening cockpit but no pilot. The connectors at the back is for the backpack. It can move up and down and side wards and is very articulate. Great details in the body.

ARMS

Arms and the shoulder armor is built together. Elbows has very nice bend, and the hands are connected by a ball joint.

HEAD

The head has very nice details on it. They head has a LEO head with the mask of the Tallgeese. This is due to that the Tallgeese is based on the design of Leo mobile suits but modified to battle the gundams.

TALLGEESE

So here is the Tallgeese once put together without its backpack.

BACKPACK VERNIER UNIT

The backpack is very detailed and has flaps on it, that will be shown later.

So here is the Tallgeese with the Vernier unit.

ARTICULATION

The arms is very articulate. the shoulder can poop out to have forward and back ward movement for more articulation.

The skirt has a ball joint peg that can be connected at the hips of the Tallgeese for an option. This is to hold the skirt once the leg is moved. However, the connection is not that solid. But it doesn't hinder any articulation on the kit.

There is minimal ab crunch on this kit due to locking mechanism on its back. However, once unlocked, it show very nice ab crunch.

Here is the Tallgeese all flaps opened and thrusters exposed.

WEAPONS

The RG Tallgeese comes with a shield, two beam sabers and the dober gun.
And set of holding hand, closed fist hand, open hand and one holding hand molded with a a wrist extended.

The dober gun extended longer or shorter base from your preference. The magazine are detachable and is connected by a five-point articulation connector that can be connected on the shoulder armor. Making a decent poses on the dober gun is possible.

The shield has a details on it. Handle can move up and down, which is not really that important since the connector with a four-point articulation that can be connected on the shoulder armor can hold the shield for the Tallgeese.
The beam sabers can be stored on the shield as well.

Speaking of beam sabers, the kit has a two beam sabers with effect parts. Interestingly, Bandai gave two kinds of beam effect parts. Two clear red and two clear white. I prefer the white one.

OVERALL

I like this kit, very detailed, very articulate and brings nostalgia for Gundam Wing (which has a poor storyline) fans series like me.

Building Process: Normal
Articulation: 9/10
Details: 10/10
Playability: 8/10

Overall: 8.5/10

Gundam Wing is the first gundam series I ever watched. With that said, This kit brings nostalgic memories of childhood specially for those who grew up in the 90's like me.

That is all for me, thank you for reading and please look forward on my next review.

Thanks
