HGUC 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam

Hello!

Nothing beats the classic. Today, we are going to look at the grand daddy of all gundams.... The iconic RX-78-2 Gundam in HG 1/144 scale.

The reason why I bought and built the Zaku in the first place because I want something to partner this daddy with it. Lets take a look

UNBOXING

Unboxing this kit surprises me since it only comes with three main runners. So I expected that this will be a fast built... and it was.

The build is to simple and fast! Maybe if you built this kit three times, you may not need to use the manual in building this on your next build. ^_^

MOBILE SUIT

Though this is a fast build, you will be surprised on how articulate this kit is.

Knees and elbows are double jointed.

The arm, though it has limited movement moving forward, you may raise the arm upward making the iconic pose of the RX-78-2's shooting above pose possible.

WEAPONS and ACCESSORIES

So this kit will give you a pair of beam sabers, a shield, a beam riffle and a bazooka. It also comes with a pair of holding and open hands and a trigger finger hand for the right arm.

For the beam sabers, it has two long special effect parts.

The shield can be simply attached in the hole in the arm.

Also, for extra strong connectivity, you may use the holding hand to hold the handle on the arm. (not that you needed to)

And if not in use, you may place it in the backpack.

The beam riffle. It is simple and it has two handles, the one can sideways so that it can be hold in the other arm

Unfortunately, since it the arm has a limited forward movement, the only pose that I can do is pointing the riffle upward when holding it using both hands.

On the manual, it says that it is possible to point the riffle in front using both arms though... But I can't make it to do so.

However, since the arm can be pointed upward, making this iconic pose is no problem at all.

The bazooka is pretty nice to.

It can be placed at the back skirt using an attachment piece when not in use.

OVER ALL

This is very nice kit! Simple yet a satisfying build. This is kit is well recommended for beginners and who wants to start with this hobby.

DESIGN: 8/10
ARTICULATION: 9/10
PLAYABILITY: 10/10

There are a lot of version of this mobile suit in HG 1/144 scale line. Not mentioning that there is also an RG variation of this mobile suit.

With this kit, you can do some of the iconic poses that made the RX 78-2 popular. Though it has a lack of details, I may like this kit more compared to its variant in RG line. Well, it is just my opinion though.

Thank you for reading and I hope you look forward to next review.

Thanks!

HG Gundam the Origin 1/144 Char Aznable's Mobile Suit MS-06S Zaku II

Hello!

I'm on fire right now for building my backlogs last year and this time I would like to share with you my piece of mind in this kit, the HG 1/144 Zaku II of Char Aznble from the Gundam the Origin series.

This will be my first time building a Zaku so I really don't know what to expect. But from my experience from this, it come out that this is pretty nice kit! Lets take a look.

MOBILE SUIT
This kit is very articulative. Specially the ab crunches. Elbows are double jointed as well as the knees. The shield is connected by a ball joint on the right shoulder while the shoulder armor on the left is connected in a hinge.

The arms can move forward like any other HG's now a days.

The mono eyes can be adjusted using a peg hidden below the head.

And there is an extra hinge movement on the foot so that it can move forward.

Very articulative it is.

WEAPONS and ACCESSORIES

So here it is together what it comes with

TOMAHAWKS
So there are tow tomahawks that is included on this kit.

The short one has a peg that is intended to store at the sideskirt of the mobile suit, while the longer one is used for the mobile suit to hold on.

Unfortunately, the longer tomahawk cannot be stored or place on the mobile suit while not in use.

 RIFFLE

This is pretty long riffle. But making a good pose is not an issue with this riffle.

However, there will be a weight issues when holding it just with one arm.

BAZOOKA

The bazooka is pretty nice. Bandai gave a three magazines for this bazooka. One is for the bazooka it self while the other two can be attached on the shield.

Like the riffle, posing this kit with the bazooka is no problem at all.

Oh, and there is an adapter piece included for action base.

The bazooka can be placed on the backpack when not in use.

OVERALL

This is a very nice kit that is good for beginners. If you don't ever built a zaku before and want to try one, this is your kit.

It has pretty nice articulation and pretty deep design for panel lining.

BUILD: 9/10 (good for beginners)
DESIGN: 8/10
PLAYABILITY: 10/10

I have never thought that I would enjoy building a Zaku. That is because I have a mentality that I would not enjoy building an antagonist's mobile suit. Maybe I have to look for other zakus this time.

I would be happy to build other kits than gundam if there will be someone to sponsor it though (ehem)

Well that is my review and please look forward on my next review. Thanks :)
