HGCE 1/144 Sword Impulse Gundam (PBandai)

Hello again!

I believe this will be my first PBandai review.

Let me just say this... I really love mobile suits either with heavy guns or with huge swords.

The first time I saw this gundam on anime gives me the chills. I wanted to build this kit long time ago. We know the first release of this gundam was not that good. Finally, it has been remastered, you need to spend more money though. So let's take a look if this kit will be worth buying...

Again, let's take a look on HGCE 1/144 Sword Impulse Gundam (PBandai)

Before I start, obviously, this is just a recoloring of the HGCE Force Impulse Gundam... so I will be focusing on the difference and what will you get on this kit.

UNBOXING:

So we will have a two bonus clear stand for 1/144 scale (thanks bandai)

MOBILE SUIT

So here it is the, Sword Impulse Gundam... I really love the color scheme of this kit. The huge swords, the boomerang and again those huge swords!

WEAPONS and ACCESSORIES

Well, obviously it has a different backpack and weapons since it is a different version of impulse gundam. The black part on the wings however is a sticker... but you can easily painted if you wanted to.

The wing on the backpack can be detached and can be used as a big boomerang.

Also, it can be divided into two and use it as a beam boomerang.

But what we are looking for is those huge swords "excalibur"or anti-ship swords...

The two swords can be joined at their hilts to form a large dual-bladed ambidextrous form.

Unfortunately, the blue part in the handle is a sticker, which can be worn off easily. I recommend painting this... as well as the handle since it should be in gray (or black).

BONUS:

Aside from the two clear stand, you will also have an extra HGCE Freedom body parts and a huge anti-ship sword. These parts is used if you want to recreate the epic scene where the Freedom Gundsam is destroyed by Shin using the Impulse Gundam..

OVER ALL
I'm going to be biased here.. I really love this kit. This is my favorite gundam so far...

building process: normal (good for beginners)
design: 10/10
details: 8/10 (considering that its a HG)
articulation: 10/10

OVERALL: 9.5/10

However, the real question is if it is worth it? If you are not living in Japan, PBandai kits can be expensive... For the price of this kit, you can have a decent RG kits or MG kits.

The answer is, well it depends to you. If you have the money to spare, and really love the Impulse Gundam, why not?

On my case, I really love Impulse Gundam, and I love MS with huge swords. So that two points for me to buy this kit.

However, if you don't have the money, it is not a big loss, you can buy other descent kits that is not in PBandai.

I believe that PBandai is for hardcore gunpla fans that wants to build and collect. If you are just ordinary builder like me, we can focus on other stuff or something we really need. My motto in regards to my hobby is "you must set your priorities, needs over hobby". At the end, this is just a model kit that we will pass on to our future kids (well if it will last that long)...

Well, that's it for me.. Thank you for your time reading and please look forward on my next review (I think you know what my next review is)

Thanks!
