The RG 1/144 RX 178 MkII AEUG color..
Now I have to say, this is one of my favorite kit, so I putted a little effort of panel washing it instead of using a gundam marker >.< and I'm planning on doing a review on the Titan version...but maybe next time :P
I dont really know about the Zeta series and its story...but I just like the design of this kit >.<
PLATES and DECALS
You will have ten plates all in all, a sheet of clear stickers, a wire and soft cloth for piping in the legs... the piping gimmick actually the reason why I love this kit... I was intrigue just how to make it done. :P
for colors, you will have two shades of white and gray, a yellow, red and dark blue.
the B plate has two shades of gray already done for you... it really amazed me.
The sticker is also great but I'm planning on putting the waterslide decals on this kit so i didn't put them yet... except for the eyes and the gold part on the legs.
yup! its Bandai.
INNER FRAME
The instruction tells you to build the whole inner frame first and put the armors later... so for a lazy reviewer like me, who doesnt want to include the Inner frame, have a little less trouble. :P
As you can see it has a bulky legs with a skinny arms, things will go different when the armor is put on.
Great articulation on the innerframe... unfortunately, the articulation of the innerframe will be lessen when the armors is put on. but still great articulation and details... they also have a piping system on the feet.
FEET and LEGS
Because of the piping system connects the legs and the feet, its hard to separate the two parts so I will just review two of them together.
The legs bend at two points, unfortunately all the piping on the legs will not be seen much because of the armor, but you can still see the piping on the back of the knees.
great part separation when it bends and good color separation. there are a lot of opportunities for ls to panel-lining .
SKIRT
all skirts can move independently.. there is also an opening part at the back where you can store the bazooka, which will feature later as the review goes on.
Great color separation and details. it also have a gimmick where the legs connects can move forward (I think newer RG kits has this gimmick). this is for more posing possibilities.
BODY and BACK PACK
I didnt put the waist yet since its a separate part, where it will be sandwiched by the body and the skirt.
Great body part. a little bulky just like what the Mk II is. the red part is for the hatch that can open.
there is also a green clear plastic for the sensors (I think) which makes the body looks great. there is also some lining opportunities here, which you could just ignore since its dark and black lining will be seen less, unless you go for a white/silver linings.
For the backpack, the storage for the beam sabers can move side to side. there is also a piping system in there. the thrusters is connected in a ball joint, some says that it is loose, well for me it holds well..(unless of course if its bumped accidentally)
I also painted the insides of the thrusters...just minor detailing. :P
ARMS and SHOULDERS
Bulky shoulders, two tone of white.
The arms can bend at two points, and also has great part separation when it bends. there is a little movement on the part where the hands is connected. When it bend, you can see a lot of inner parts at the back.. but still great details and articulation.
For hands, they will give you one set of RG hands and closed fist hands, a trigger-finger hand and an open palm hand.
I also painted the gold part, since when i putted the metal sticker on it, later, it peels off. so better paint it... I just used a gold sharpie marker for that one.
HEAD
well for me, it looks like a brother of RX 78-2...
there is a clear green plastic for the eyes, so you can just paint it black and leave the eyes green, or you can use decals, which I did because its more attractive. no sticker for the fore and back head camera since its in clear green plastic there is also some details for panel lining...theres some small parts so be careful not to loose those parts. like the face mask and red part on the v-fin.
MS
when all parts is together...damn! I really like this kit. Great articulation. and it can stand on its own.
here are some pics
The opening hatch together with its pilot (which i dont know who)
WEAPONS and ACCESSORIES
for weapons, well it doesnt have more.
it comes with a shield, two beam sabers, which is attached at the backpack, a beam riffle and a bazooka... but it comes with a lot of ammo.
For the shield, it has three colors, a little red, white and dark blue.. it can also extend. at the back of the shield, theres a lot happening.. you can attache the extra magazines for the riffle and it has missile pod attached on it. the connector is attached in a ball joint which is connected into the arms
For the beam sabers, well, it has a ridiculously long beam pink clear plastic, I think it more appropriate for a 1/100 scale gundam... just look how long it is.
For the riffle, it also has a color separation. a two shade of gray, which you hardly see if your looking at it afar. the handle at front can move, also the scope can flip forward if you dont want the scope.... It has four magazines two of them are attached on the shield and one extra.
you could also store it on the side skirt
for the bazooka, the handle can move... it comes with two shades of gray and white... Its a little short for me though, but still appropriate for its scale.. and also it has extra ammo which you can also attach on the side skirts. oh, and the missile ammo actually has a missile inside it...even though you cant see it when attached on the ammo clip, but its still great you know there's a missile on it
I forgot, it also has a head vulcans for additional part on the head... which makes the effect that its ready for a battle.
It also comes with a connector for the action base for aerial poses. well i dont know if its just for me, but the connector for the action base is really loose. or maybe because I'm using a third party brand of action base.
Great kit! great articulation. great details, great color separation... I just love this kit.
I love its simplicity effect of the kit... it like the MS is really is design for war.
Thats all for now.. thanks for reading and please keep forward on my next review. :)
